Our journey began with the first TIPSFOR BOX, handmade by artisan Seiya Yoshida at Fab Village Keihoku (FVK).
FVK is a collaborative creative hub in Kyoto’s lush Keihoku district, dedicated to the philosophy of “Creating in Harmony with the Forest.” More than just a workshop, it is a place where the community uses local timber to craft everything from essential tools to beautiful furniture. FVK aims to bridge the gap between our modern lives and the natural origins of our materials, fostering a space to explore and practice truly sustainable craftsmanship.

The Story Behind the Design: Why “TIPSFOR BOX” was Crafted to Blend Seamlessly into Refined Spaces.
The design of the TIPSFOR BOX is the result of a long process of trial and error.
Initially, we planned to include detailed project descriptions on the box itself, wanting donors to understand immediately how their contributions would be used. However, through dialogues with various partners—including luxury hotels—we realized that what truly mattered was a high-quality wooden texture that harmonizes with any interior, and the sense of security and trust that comes from being able to see the contributions inside.
We also carefully considered digital payment options. Ultimately, we chose to prioritize the physical experience of “entrusting one’s feelings to the box in front of you,” leading us to this elegantly simple wooden form. By using a base design engraved with “TIPS FOR [Region Name]” and placing detailed project information on a separate side sign, we have achieved a balance between aesthetic beauty and a clear message.
Currently, we are moving into production, working closely with the skilled artisans at Fab Village Keihoku to bring these boxes to life.
